There were speculations that the TV show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul is going off the air after the suicide of its leading actress Tunisha Sharma. Even Sheezan Khan, who plays the main male lead on the show, is currently in judicial custody in connection to the actress's suicide case. However, the makers in an official statement dismissed all such reports and revealed the show will continue to air in the absence of Sheezan and Tunisha.
Now as per the latest reports, the makers will be introducing a new storyline in the show and will soon start the hunt for new actors. Sheezan, who essays the role of Alibaba, is likely to get replaced in the show. The report added actor Abhishek Nigam is being considered for the role but his mother has denied the news. The makers also assured fans that Tunisha's character will not be replaced. Earlier, a source from the show revealed to ETimes that the makers are planning to add a new character altogether, which will bring a new arch to the entire narrative of the show.
The 20-year-old Tunisha Sharma was found hanging in the makeup room on the sets of the show. Sheezan was arrested under section 306 of IPC for abetment of suicide on the complaint of the actress’ mother who accused the actor of harassing her daughter.
